About Elektro Assemblies

Elektro Assemblies strives to be the preferred provider of wire harnesses, cable assemblies and control panel/box builds for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers. Through attention to training and an aggressive “have-fun-while-doing-great-work” attitude, we will be the preferred place of employment for assembly and electro-mechanical professionals. We will produce the highest quality sub-assemblies with industry-leading turnaround time frames. We are dedicated to assisting our customers achieve their potential through a “service first” point of view, hard work, product quality assurance and innovation.

Founded in 1973 by Tom and Kay Bergsland, Elektro Assemblies focused on producing cost effective, quality driven wire harnesses and cable assemblies to industry leading OEMs. Elektro’s client list included IBM, Northern Tool and Equipment, Mitek, Mayo Clinic and Scantron.

In 2006, Tom and Kay sold Elektro to Rochester, MN businessman Steve Birdseye. Steve continued the Elektro tradition of providing quality electro-mechanical subassemblies to OEMs doing business throughout the globe.

In 2008, Automated Equipment LLC purchased Elektro Assemblies and moved the business from Rochester to Red Wing, MN. Elektro Assemblies is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Automated Equipment LLC. With the move to Red Wing, Elektro added the assembly of electro-mechanical and hydraulic control panels to our service offerings.

Elektro Assemblies remains focused on providing our team members a great environment to work and grow professionally. We have renewed our commitment to producing zero defect assemblies with industry leading turn-around times by implementing lean production principles and QA/QC protocols established in the 620A standards.
